Welcome, one and all, to the Gazzola's Shenandoah Retreat! This weekend will begin Friday afternoon/evening, and will end Sunday afternoon/evening. Be prepared for a weekend of relaxin', drinkin', fishin' and whatever else you care to do.
A word about the house:
*There are 4 bedrooms, and each sleeps 2 comfortably. 3 of them have 2 twin beds, and one has a queen. I ask that people provide their own sheets/pillowcases, and a blanket or 2 if you wish. There are linens and blankets up there, but then I have to do tons o laundry Sunday. The house is a decent size, with 1 comfy sofa, and plenty of floor space for those not fortunate enough to have claimed a bed. The bed rule is this: first come first served, courtesy should be extended to couples (but is not required), and come nightfall, there should be no less than 2 people in each room. (no fair making extra people sleep on the floor)
*The house is not air-conditioned, but we have ceiling fans everywhere upstairs, and downstairs is always cool.
*The house has a fully equipped kitchen, and food-bringing arrangements will be made so no one is shelling out lotsa dough. Beer, etc. is BYOB. Just pick up a case or a fifth on your way down (I'll do the same) and we'll be fine. Better to have too much than to have to leave the comfy house and drive ALL THE WAY to the store.
*There's no smoking IN the house, but feel free to smoke outside or on the big screened-in porch.
*The house has a dart board, a ping-pong table, a tv/vcr (no reception), and the standard board games, but feel free to bring added sources of fun and entertainment (i.e. movies, soccer ball, whatever).
*There is NO PHONE at the house, so if you don't show up, we won't be worrying about you, we'll just assume you couldn't make it. Therefore, don't get in a car accident or anything on your way to the house, because you can't call us for a ride. Cell phones rarely get service at the house, but there is a pay phone at the Shenandoah River Outfitters' right at the bottom of the hill.
See you there!
